While eventually returning as his iconic character, Bill Skarsgård was initially hesitant to come back for IT: Welcome to Derry, and he’s now sharing why. Skarsgård first brought Stephen King’s iconic clown monster to life with Andy Muschietti’s 2017 film adaptation, as well as its 2019 sequel that adapted the second half of the eponymous novel. For many, it also served as Skarsgård’s breakthrough role internationally, after having found success with Netflix’s Hemlock Grove prior to it.
