Across five movies, Legendary’s Monsterverse has become a household name among blockbuster sci-fi franchises. Beginning with Godzilla in 2014 and continuing through to 2024’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, the Kaiju-centered cinematic universe has earned more than $2.5 billion at the global box office (via The Numbers). In an era dominated by interconnected multimedia properties, it was only a matter of time before the Monsterverse expanded beyond theaters. That finally happened in 2023 when Apple TV+ debuted Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, bringing Titans to the small screen.
