Between hatred, wars, and corruption, there are so many reasons to feel demoralized by the state of the world. Reading has always felt like a small escape from the chaos and dread. Unfortunately, the feeling of hopelessness extends to the book community, where AI is taking away jobs, scams are rampant, and authors are actively harming marginalized communities.
